Your Mentawai Surf Charter Boat – Naga Laut
We launched the Naga Laut in late 1999 and have upgraded her continuously ever since. We designed the boat specifically for comfortable, upmarket surf charters in the Mentawais.
Inside, polished local timbers create a warm and comfortable atmosphere. The spacious living area gives you plenty of room to relax between surfs.
You’ll also have full air conditioning, Starlink internet, TV, DVD, a fridge and freezer, plus fishing and snorkelling gear.
The Naga Laut has four comfortable two-bed cabins and one large four-bed cabin. Every cabin has multiple power sockets, so you can keep your phones, cameras and laptops charged.
We can accommodate up to 12 surfers on special request. However, the boat sails most comfortably with 8 to 10 guests.
Fast Access to the Mentawai Waves
We carry two tenders so you can reach different waves quickly, split up and go fishing or visit the islands.
Our main tender is an aluminium speedboat powered by a Suzuki 100 hp 4 stroke, and we also also have a smaller Polycraft with a 15 HP outboard.
Both tenders remain on standby throughout your trip, giving you quick and easy access to the best surf spots.
The Naga Laut also carries a comprehensive range of safety equipment. You can relax and focus on what matters most: surfing, fishing, exploring and enjoying your time in paradise.

Great Food On Your Mentawai Surf Trip
After surfing all day, you need plenty of energy. That’s why we take our food seriously.
Our crew gets up before dawn to prepare your first breakfast. You can enjoy cereals, muesli, fresh fruit salad, coffee and tea before heading out for the dawn patrol.
After your first surf, we’ll have a second breakfast waiting for you. We then keep you fuelled throughout each day with freshly cooked, healthy and satisfying lunches.
After lunch, get back out there and chase barrels until the afternoon glass-off. Then relax on deck with cold complimentary beers and some snacks while you watch the spectacular Mentawai sunset.
Our daily meals combine Western, Indonesian and Chinese cuisine. We focus on fresh, delicious and nutritious food that keeps you healthy, happy and ready for another day in the water.

The boat "Naga Laut" translation ‘sea dragon’, apt name for a sic boat. Totally sublime crew. Loaded with culinary delights, icy beverages, a daily plethora of snacks. Man its more than ya need for an adventure on the Indian Ocean. Late season 2016 was an epic score, high quality, daily uncrowded burn out surfing sessions, slashing around and getting whipped with some of the best lads you’ll ever meet. End the arvos with a coldie and a fews yarns and a quick troll, and boom, just another 50kg fish for sashimi. I felt blessed to have such a rewarding trip. My wife now knows it’s a no brainer every year, its one of the “Bucket List” things that’s now a perennial fixture.
