"The Naga Laut has got to be one of the best boat trips going in the Mentawais. Aussie owner Frank and his Indo crew are an epic bunch, most notably Boy the killer chef, Anton the deckhand and Alawa the dingy guy are all completely at the top of their game and a pleasure to be around All of them work incredibly hard to make sure everything runs smoothly, are well fed and you get the best waves. I've done three trips with this crew and look forward to going back soon and would never consider going on any other charter. The Naga Laut is comfortable, clean and a super solid boat and under the guidance of Yanto and his brother Didit the surf guides, good local surfers who knows the spots like the back of their hands, I have always felt that on any given day we were getting the best waves on offer in the Mentawais, including a number of absolutely perfect sessions with just our boat around. Five stars all the way. Just epic, every time."

You just can't top the Mentawais for wave quality and while there's plenty of surf charter options, my time on the Naga Laut was nothing short of exceptional. The crew are just on point in every aspect. Didit (the surf guid) is a super in tune surf guide. We were all really impressed with his knowledge. He made the right call every day to maximise our surf quality and minimise the crowds. The boat is quick and really comfortable. We were usually the first boat to show up and the two speedboats maxed our options at every spot. We surfed ourselves to exhaustion and there was plenty of quality drinks and snacks to keep us fuelled up. The steaks and lamb roast were as good as mums home cooking and the Padang food was just epic. I can't get back on the Naga quick enough. Congrats to Ben and Frank on a  first rate operation.

Our first trip was on the Naga Laut in 2005 and we’ve since been back another two times (2008, 2014) and I’m confident in saying they’ve never let us down!

First and foremost, the skipper, crew and guide on the Naga Laut are great hosts, always keen to search for less crowded breaks and giving you the heads up on what other boats are doing, weather forecasts and sharing their local knowledge on where the best waves will be depending on what surfing experience you and your mates are searching for. Oh yeah, they’re also geared up to reel off surf photos of all your memorable sessions which makes for a perfect day after surfing, having a few beers with the boys and watching the action highlights on the TV – pure indulgence for any frother. Apart from this, is the food…whoa…from a rich Indo curry, to a lamb roast or sashimi on deck it’s certainly no Lombok chicken-boat tour, that’s for sure.

Other than that it’s also worth mentioning is Ben and Frank who are running the show. They responded to endless questions from my mates and I before departing, sorting visas, transfers, deposits and generally kept us frothing. Even sending one of the team to wait at the airport until lost luggage arrived while we chilled on the boat over a few Bintangs. We’ll be returning again, that’s for sure. Thanks again guys.

10 days on the Naga Laut in the Mentawai’s is about as close to heaven as you can get without kicking the bucket. The whole setup on the boat is fine tuned for surfers. From Boy the chef’s epic food to Didit the surf guide’s guidance and advice as to where to go. He made some excellent calls and got us into some unbelievable surf, including the fun fest that is known as Maccas. One day in particular at Lance’s left is etched  into my memory forever! The crew on the Naga Laut are professionals, they take care of everything with a big smile on their faces, so that you don’t have to worry about anything except getting the waves of your life. I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to meet, travel and surf through the Mentawai Islands with this crew of awesome people. Until next time my bru’s!

The Ments was my first experience on a surf trip. It defiantly won`t be my last, nor will it be my last with Naga Laut.

We all had the trip of a life time. Sure the waves were amazing, that was always going to potentially be a given, but the crew were all incredible. Owner Ben, is a true professional but more importantly an awesome dude, that only cared that his tourists were treated with nothing but the best. That we were, from the best food ,best service, amazing waves, great stories and all round 12 days of nonstop smiles from all. Speaking on behalf of the boys, we have already looked into our next trip, and no doubt we are jumping aboard with Ben and his crew.

On behalf of all the boys, we can’t thank Ben and his crew enough for allowing us to come home with a memories of a lifetime!!!Can`t wait to see you all again, you all rock!!

Scored early season Mentawais with consistent fun sized swell an Uncrowded  waves at almost every spot we surfed. The crew were unreal with their service. Unbelievable food and a local surf guide that knows everything possible about surfing the Ments. Definitely the best boat in the Mentawais for good service an scoring those uncrowded spots!!

Scored a few weeks aboard the Naga Laut this April. What a great trip! The crew, the food, the mates, the beers and the laughs made the trip. The world-class waves and 8hrs a day in the water almost seemed a bonus. Cheers guys!

Really enjoyed the Naga Laut trip - all the crew looked after us & made sure we only had to focus on surfing. Didit the surf guide is very knowledgable and helped us make the best decisions  about where to go each day for the swell, wind and to avoid other boats.

I have been surfing since i was 9 years old and the ultimate dream was always to go onto a boat trip. I finally managed to get the time to go to the Mentawai's and be part of Naga Laut together with a bunch of friends.

From the moment we arrived at the airport in Padang we where welcomed by the Mentawai Blue team to take us to the boat. I did not expect to have such a big and professional crew on board when i booked in for this adventure. We where looked after at all times and could focus entirely on what we wanted. Surf all day in the best spots of the Mentawai Islands, eat the best variation of heathy meals that can't even be beaten by the best restaurant and have our casual entertainment with beers, fishing, snorkelling etc.

There was always somebody to look after us, no matter what time it was. We would even get dropped off and picked up directly at the line up with the speedboat in order to save us the paddle. And whilst we were surfing were taken pictures of us to look through them after dinner. I work in the Surftravel industry myself and run camps all around Europe and I have to say that I was blown away by the great service we received from the very beginning of the trip till the very end. Even though it was late November and maybe not the best season according to some people, it was still the best surf trip i have ever done. I will definitely see you guys again on Mentawai Blue and the Naga Laut.
